In class this week, we will be reading ‘Macbeth’ ahead of our trip to the Globe Theatre on Friday. The visit will begin with an exploratory tour of the theatre. This will be followed by a workshop within which the children will have the opportunity to act out scenes from the play and explore its themes.

Just before half term, the children produced some beautiful artwork inspired by ‘The Harvest Moon’ by Ted Hughes. I will post some pictures of their finished pieces this week, along with some photographs of the trip.

I hope you’ve had a lovely break. See you tomorrow!

As you’ll know from last week’s class assembly, Year 6 children have been working very hard on their RE topic. What a fantastic assembly it was! We have spent some time this week deepening our understanding of ‘The Parable of the Prodigal Son’ – the children’s responses were very reflective. Next week, we will be learning more about Judaism.

On Tuesday this week, the children were asked to sort through lots of information in a problem-solving lesson. They had to consider whether they had sufficient information to answer questions accurately. Some interesting debates took place as they really had to establish what they could be certain of. Next week, the children will be solving missing number problems. We love a problem!

In English lessons, the children will be challenged to look for clues in a text as we attempt to work out what has happened in a story with a flashback. Detective hats on!

We look forward to the Zulu Nation Theatre Company visit next week.

Have a lovely weekend.
