Last week was full of collaborative learning. The children enjoyed writing descriptions in small groups as they learnt from each other whilst experimenting with sentence structure. For homework, the children have been asked to think about how they will develop one of their descriptions into a story.

Next week, in Maths we will be focussing on long division. In Science, the children will be learning about the history of the classification of living things. We are all looking forward to World Book Day on Thursday – the teachers have some excellent costume ideas!

Week beginning 1 February

Mrs Myers popped in to see us during our DT lesson on Wednesday. She was very impressed with the quality of work produced. I will post pictures of the finished carousels next week. In Maths, we used our knowledge of shape properties to solve problems. We spent time editing and developing our debate speeches from our History lessons using a range of devices to build cohesion within and across paragraphs. 6O is most definitely a class full of budding politicians!

Next week, we will continue to develop our knowledge of shape properties. On Friday, we will be sharing a poem from our most recent poetry unit with the rest of the school. On Monday, LET THE GREAT DEBATE COMMENCE!
