Indoor Athletics

Three key words for this week so far have been 'team', 'active' and 'competition'. All classes across the school have been competing in our Indoor Athletics Inter House Competition. Well done to all children for their enthusiastic participation!

Learning about learning!

In Year 6 this week we felt inspired when we watched a video about redrafting and improving work - which prompted an in-depth discussion about ‘how we learn best’.  Since the beginning of the new school year, the children have been focussing on further developing skills in reviewing their work – identifying the best bits and then making improvements (where necessary). Also this week, the children solved problems involving factors, multiples and prime numbers. They developed note-taking skills using abbreviations/ acronyms and bullet points. Through a fun dance starter, we learnt about algorithms in Computing.
The children have chosen electronic devices to research for homework. This work is due in on Monday as they will be using their notes to write non-chronological reports. I am looking forward to learning more about the latest developments in technology!
